The seduction begins on social media with an ad that pops up on your feed that catches your attention. It could be a video or still image. Here are some examples:
Of course, not every ad that you see is a scam. However, the ads that are scams will almost always promise an incredibly high return on investment. The psychology of greed starts here and will almost certainly inspire you to wonder and be curious about how such a high rate of return is possible. To learn more you will be invited to chat with the ad's sponsor on WhatsApp or Telegram. I will refer to this initial contact as the "Guide". Your Guide will almost always be displayed in the messaging profile as female. This person will help through the sign up process and come across as a friendly, helpful contact.
Once you get signed up, your Guide will invite you to join a large messaging app group made up of other investors signed up in the platform. Note, a variation of this process is that your WhatsApp number is added to an investor group directly without your permission. This occurs when your WhatsApp number has been harvested by an unknown entity which has targeted you as being an investor prospect due to your previous WhatsApp history.
The sign up process will have a very low buy-in amount, usually $100 USDT and the platform will initially appear legitimate. In some cases, the platform will be offered as a mobile app as well.
These platforms will almost always include a referral or invite code which binds the investor to the Guide as a way of tracking investor activity on the platform and as a possible way to track internal commissions earned by the Guide.
The Guide or another admin within the investor group will provide trading signals to follow and execute from within the platform.
If the trading signal is an open trade, you will be provided with the exit signal as well.
As part of the platform's strategy to appear legitimate, the Guide or other admin will introduce someone into the group with a name recognizable on the internet as a wealthy, successful and knowledgeable individual. I will refer to this person as the "Professor." The Professor will dispense advice and information that will impress the investors.
Please note that the Professor is an impersonation of the actual person he or she is claiming to be. Trust me on this point.
